Produces a permanent finish to replicate the original
All Leather will eventually wear and fade. Light surface scratches and cracks will appear which cause the leather to look old and deteriorated, but the leather itself is still in good condition. All that is needed is to restore the finish with a new color dye. This semi-aniline leather color restoration kit enables you to refinish worn and faded leather easily.
The color dye provided is a water based Polyurethane material, the same as the finish originally applied during the tanning process. Designed to be highly compatible with leather, the new finish provided will be just as permanent and long lasting as the original finish. It can be cleaned and conditioned just as the original and will give you many years of service.This is a color dye system used on semi-aniline leather. One kit provides enough material to recolor the seating area of two automotive Bucket seats, or the seating area of one medium sized sofa. Larger projects will require additional product.
Repair light surface cracks and scratches
Light surface cracks can begin to appear in a leather finish. Scratches caused by animal claws or other items being scraped over the surface of the leather happen and cause the leather to take on a look of deterioration. These may all be refinished and brought back to like new condition using this Leather Color Restoration Kit, If deep cracks exist in your leather, it will be necessary to fill these cracks with repair compound. Don’t like the color you have now? Want to change it? No problem! You can even change the color of your leather with the Leather Color Restoration Kit! These color dyes are highly pigmented and will completely cover the original color. Please keep in mind that semi-aniline dyes are somewhat “transparent”. This means that going from a dark color to a lighter color will not be possible. Also, when working with complete opposite colors the results will not be as expected. An example would be: going from a red color to a green color . The end results will be a greenish brown.
